By Breaking Belize News Staff: Five years after a major gun heist at Victor L. Bryant Co. on Chetumal Boulevard, two men, Randy Chambers and Selvin Linares, have been sentenced to prison. Chambers was found guilty of burglary and multiple firearm offenses, receiving an 8-year sentence. Linares, who pleaded guilty to burglary but was found guilty of firearm offenses, was sentenced to 7 years.
The heist, which occurred in February 2019, saw numerous firearms stolen and subsequently circulated on the streets. Chambers and Linares were both convicted after a trial and subsequent mitigation pleas. Their sentences will run concurrently, meaning they will serve the longer terms of 8 and 7 years, respectively.
