By Aaron Humes: According to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, there has been a round of posting and re-sharing alleged lewd content on social media.
The Commissioner took to social media himself to warn those people posting, re-posting, and adding captions to offensive videos and photographs to stop doing so, as they are committing a form of “cyber-bullying” under the Cyber-crime Act of 2020.
“It is an offense under the Cyber(crime) Act for one to use a computer device to produce or distribute any video or photographs with intent to humiliate, harm or subject the person to public ridicule or embarrassment,” the Commissioner wrote.
The offending material should be removed and not further published or shared or else prosecution may result.
