By Aaron Humes: According to Chief Meteorologist Ronald Gordon, now-Category 3 Hurricane Beryl is expected to bring rainfall and gusty winds and seas for most of today, Thursday, and Friday.
However, presuming that it continues on its current track to the west-northwest, landfall will be late tonight on Mexico’s Yucatan coast, around 80 miles from Belize.
Beryl is currently carrying winds of 115 miles per hour (as of the 9 a.m. advisory) and is expected to weaken further during the day, but there is still a possibility of an outer band affecting parts of the country other than those under tropical storm watch. At least four to six inches of rainfall are projected, increasing flooding concerns in the already saturated north.
