By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Team (BWNT) on Wednesday completed their second three-day training cycle ahead of their international friendly matches against Bermuda and Cuba.
The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) said the BWNT will play two matches against Bermuda in Belmopan in July and two against Cuba in Havana in August. These international friendlies are preparatory matches for the Concacaf Women’s Nations League.
The first match against Bermuda is scheduled for next week Thursday, July 11 at 7:00 pm at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. The second match is set for Sunday, July 14 at 4:00 pm at the same venue.
Currently, the BWNT today (Wednesday) completed the second training cycle which started on Monday, July 1 at the FFB headquarters in Belmopan. The first cycle was held from June 24-26. The third will be right before the Bermuda game when they will report to camp on Monday, July 8 and remain there until Sunday, July 14. The fourth, prior to the Cuba games, is scheduled for August 9-12.
Right after that training cycle, the BWNT will travel to Havana to measure their abilities against the Cuba Women’s National Team. The first match will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, at the Estadio Pedro Marrero. The final preparation match will be on Sunday, August 18 at the same venue at 4:00 pm.
