By Aaron Humes: Nine grocery establishments in the Cayo and Belize District have been issued tickets for violations of the Supplies Control (Prices) Regulations following inspections conducted by the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise.
The Supplies Control Unit will continue its inspection activities and will engage local authorities to identify and address violations of the Supplies Control Regulations. Establishment owners are reminded that they are required to ensure prices are within the allowed markup for regulated items, that prices must be displayed for these items, and that invoices and receipts must be presented when requested by an inspector.
Establishment owners are further reminded that the control price for 16-ounce sliced bread is $2.10 and not $2.25.
For further information, kindly contact the Supplies Control Unit at 828-5018, 223-2845 or via email at desiree.montes@agriculture.gov.bz. Report suspected violations to 607-4686.
