Ministry of Civil Aviation hosts 12th Annual North American, Central American and Caribbean Directors of Civil Aviation Meeting

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Ministry of Civil Aviation hosted the 12th Annual North American, Central American and Caribbean Directors of Civil Aviation Meeting (NACC/DCA/12).

For the first time, approximately 100 dignitaries from across the Caribbean, North America, and Central America gathered in Belize to share knowledge on the best practices for improving aviation security and facilitation.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has named this year the year of facilitation.

“Aviation is vital to Belize, as 55% of the country’s GDP comes from Tourism, and over 50% of tourists travel by air. Belize’s airspace management continues to inspire confidence in its regional partners,” the Government of Belize noted.
