By Horace Palacio: Belize is expected to experience sunny skies with cloudy intervals today, according to the National Meteorological Service. However, residents and visitors should be prepared for a few showers and thunderstorms, primarily over the southern and inland areas during the morning hours. The shower activity will become more isolated in the afternoon.
Tonight and tomorrow morning, there may be a few outbreaks of showers or thunderstorms, mainly over the south and along some coastal areas. Temperatures will vary across the country, with highs reaching 89°F (32°C) on the coast, 94°F (34°C) inland, and 82°F (28°C) in the hills. Lows will dip to 83°F (28°C) on the coast, 74°F (23°C) inland, and 68°F (20°C) in the hills.
Winds will be blowing from the east at 10-15 knots, creating choppy sea conditions with waves reaching 3-5 feet.
The Tropical Weather Outlook indicates no tropical cyclone formation is expected in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico within the next 48 hours.
For the weekend, the forecast predicts cloudy intervals with a few showers or thunderstorms, mainly along the coastal areas and in the south during the daytime, gradually decreasing at night.
