By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Team (BWNT) defeated Bermuda on two goals by captain Sabrina Eiley on Thursday night at the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) Stadium in Belmopan.

Eiley scored in the 52^nd minute and then again in the 69^th propelling Belize to a 2-0 victory over higher Bermuda in the first of two friendly matches.

The second is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, at 4:00 pm at the same venue.

Bermuda currently hold the 19th spot in Concacaf rankings, six places above Belize, who are positioned at 25th. In the FIFA World Ranking, Bermuda stand at 144, while Belize rank 169.

The BWNT are preparing for the Concacaf League B tournament.

They will have two more friendlies in August against Cuba in Havana. The first will be played at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, and the second on Sunday, August 18 at 4:00 pm.
