Coast Guard officer granted $1,500 bail for alleged aggravated assault against cousin

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize Coast Guard employee, 22-year-old Gareth Robert Banner, is out on bail after pleading not guilty to aggravated assault against his cousin, Harrison Banner, in Lemonal Village.

Appearing unrepresented in Court #6, Gareth was charged with assault using a pint bottle. The magistrate granted bail of $1,500 with conditions, including no contact with the victim and staying 100 yards away. Gareth must also avoid any similar offenses while on bail.

His next court date is set for September 24, 2024.
