By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Police are investigating an armed home invasion that occurred just after 7:30 last night in Santa Cruz area of Santa Elena.
Carla Vellas told police that she was at her rental home along with her 2 children when 2 armed men arrived on a motorcycle.
Both bandits had on helmets and demanded money and gold jewelry.
The culprits searched the house and stole Vellas chains, her phone and other items valued at a total of more than $6000.
The thieves tied up Vellas and hit her with the gun on her mouth.
The thieves then escaped on the cycle.
Investigations continue.
