By Horace Palacio: The search for 58-year-old Belhem Guzman Sr., who had been reported missing just days earlier, came to a heartbreaking end yesterday when his body was discovered in a bushy area off the main road in Camalote Village, Cayo District. Guzman, who had vision problems and often became disoriented, had not returned home, prompting his family to issue a public plea for help in locating him.
Sadly, on Sunday, September 8th, Guzman’s lifeless body was found, bound with an extension cord and bearing multiple chop wounds to the neck. His hands and feet were tied, signaling a violent end to his life.
Just two days before, Guzman’s niece, Tisha Guzman, had shared her concern with the public, explaining that her uncle, who lived in Camalote, was known to become lost and had not returned home as expected. His family feared the worst but continued to hope for a positive outcome, with the community rallying behind them to spread the word.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances of his murder. Police have confirmed that Guzman’s death was violent and are probing the details, though no further information has been released at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, as police work to uncover the motive behind the senseless killing and identify those responsible.
