By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso FC advanced to the final of the National Youth Club U15 Boys Football Championship edging Toledo’s Tribal 4-2 in the penalty shootout after a 2-2 aggregate score.
Just as in the first leg in Belmopan, both clubs drew 1-1 at Orange Walk’s Louisiana Football Field on Sunday.
Ethan Delgado opened the scoring in favor of Medina’s in the 15th minute, but Tamron Baptist leveled the score at 1-1 in the 28th minute.
With the aggregate tied at 2-2, they proceeded to the penalty shootout, with Progresso emerging triumphant on goals by Elon Castillo, Javann Lambey, Jerrain Westby, and Jaylen Hall.
Jahson Standford and Stephawn Chun scored for Medina’s.
Progresso will now face Westline in the final on Saturday, September 14, at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
