By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the UDP accused Cayo West Area Representative Jorge ‘Milin’ Espat of putting Guatemalan’s first.
The UDP says that Milin has an office in neighboring Melchor, Peten.
But, Espat’s office has responded saying that he “remains fully committed to the people of Cayo West since being elected. Contrary to any claims, he has not abandoned his constituents.”
Espat says that his office is open Monday to Friday, welcoming everyone, and he regularly attends to his constituents.
“By choice, Hon. Espat has not been assigned a government vehicle and uses his personal vehicle for travel and work. His dedication to Cayo West is evident in the progress made, which surpasses what was achieved under the UDP in over 20 years,” Espat’s office said.
He also said that the UDP’s remarks are a reflection of their internal turmoil and desperation.
