Premier League of Belize: Progresso FC lead despite recent setbacks

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso FC are still in the lead, but with the Premier League of Belize (PLB) moving into Week 7 and competition among the top teams getting more intense, they have no guarantee that they’ll be able to stay at the top much longer.

Currently, the Orange Walk side are still the top club with 14 points. However, having dropped four points in the last two games after a 0-0 draw against San Pedro Pirates and 1-1 draw against Bandits, the superiority they displayed in the first round is now in question.

With only four teams set to qualify for the playoffs, every match counts, and the battle for ranking is fiercer than ever. The top four teams are fighting not just for playoff qualification but also for better rankings to gain an advantage in the knockout stages.
