The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Transport has observed an increasing number of instances where houses are being transported on highways without the necessary permits. We would like to remind the public and all relevant stakeholders that any movement of houses on public highways requires prior approval from the ministry.
In accordance with traffic regulations, all houses being transported must be accompanied by police or transport department vehicles. These escort vehicles are crucial for alerting other road users, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of oversized loads, and preventing accidents.
The Department of Transport will actively monitor these movements to ensure compliance with the law and will take enforcement measures against those found in violation. We urge everyone to adhere to these guidelines for the safety and security of all road users.
