By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 32-year-old Belize City call center sales agent, Vanessa Good, was detained on Wednesday following an incident in which she allegedly stabbed her ex-mother-in-law, 57-year-old Sharlene Cane Alvarez.
Good, a mother of two, appeared in magistrate’s court on Friday facing 3 charges: use of deadly means of harm, grievous harm, and burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
According to Good’s version, she visited Alvarez to collect money for her children when Alvarez allegedly approached her with a shiny object and attempted to attack.
The prosecutor strongly opposed bail, but the chief magistrate granted it under the condition that Good undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
She was released on bail set at $3,000 and ordered to stay away from Alvarez and other family members.
Good lost custody of her children while her ex-mother-in-law remains hospitalized.
