By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Muffles College boys faced a tough challenge on Friday, falling 8-0 to El Salvador’s C.E. Católico Educando a un Salvadoreño at the U18 CODICADER Games in El Salvador.
The loss dropped Muffles to last place in the standings with two defeats. On Thursday, they had previously fallen 4-1 to Costa Rica’s Liceo UNESCO.
Also on Friday, Liceo UNESCO routed Guatemala’s Colegio Privado Mixto Tecnológico 9-1, while Panama’s Instituto Rubiano drew 2-2 with Nicaragua’s Instituto Nacional Dr. Carlos Vargas B. Honduras’ Instituto Satuyé had a rest day.
El Salvador and Costa Rica lead the standings with six points each. Guatemala are in third place, followed by Panama and Nicaragua, with one point each, in fourth and fifth places respectively. Honduras and Belize are in sixth and seventh places, respectively, without any points.
Meanwhile, the Belmopan Comprehensive (COMPRE) girls defeated El Salvador’s C.E. Alberto Guerra Trigueros 6-2 on Friday. On Thursday, COMPRE had lost 5-1 to Colegio Santa María de Guadalupe (SAMAGU) of Costa Rica.
On Saturday, October 5, they’ll play against Honduras (COMPRE at 8:00 am and Muffles at 10:15 am) at Cancha FESA.
On Sunday, October 6, they’ll face Nicaragua (COMPRE at 4:00 pm and Muffles at 6:00 pm) at Cancha FESA.
On Monday, October 7, they’ll battle Guatemala, COMPRE at 8:00 am at Estadio Las Delicias and Muffles at 8:00 am as well at Cancha FESA.
On Tuesday, October 8, they’ll tackle Panama, COMPRE at 8:00 am at Estadio Las Delicias and Muffles at 8:00 am as well at Cancha FESA.
