By BBN Staff: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is donating roofing materials and cleaning kits to Belize City residents who were severely affected by Hurricane Earl.
The announcement was made late this afternoon via a press release.
The materials are expected to help 125 families repair their homes and will be handed over to the City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) tomorrow, Friday August 19th at the Militia Hall compound.
The donation has a price tag of approximately US$50,000 and is being provided through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
OCHA is an agency of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for coordinating humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies, said the release.
