By Aaron Humes: After previous issues stymied attempts to charge manager Ryan Rhaburn with kidnapping of Canadian-Belizeans Lloyd Friesen and his wife, police were able to lay charges earlier this week.
Today the Crown did not object to Supreme Court Justice Troadio Gonzalez granting Rhaburn, represented by Herbert Panton, bail on the charge.
Justice Gonzalez set bail in the sum of $8,000 plus one surety of the same amount or two sureties of $4,000 each.
Rhaburn is to surrender all his travelling documents to the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court clerk of court. He must report to the Belmopan Police Station every Friday of the week effective next week Friday, August 26, 2016 until his case is disposed of. He must also stay away from the victims or the prosecution witnesses and he must attend all his court hearings so ordered by the magistrate at the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court.
Ryan Rhaburn returns to court on November 10, 2016 in Belmopan.
