By BBN Staff: Prime Minister Dean Barrow is asking the BNTU to call off strike action. In an audio sent to the media this afternoon, he says that the 8 demands were addressed by a letter he sent to the BNTU prior to their meeting on Thursday.
He claims that the BNTU is unreasonable because they have not met with their membership to discuss the matters.
Barrow states that the BNTU refused to listen to other views regarding the Senate inquiry.
He added that an inflexible attitude by the BNTU dominated the meeting and there was nothing he could do to get through.
He also stated that he will detail the intractability regarding every single demand but he did speak on the SSB coverage to and from work which is one of the teachers’s demand.
Barrow says that the BNTU is holding parents and children to ransom and are being unreasonable.
He is asking for a return to the negotiating table and call off the strike action.
