Monday, July 27th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Police in Punta Gorda Town last Friday picked up a man accused of rape in the Belize District and today he appeared in court. 
48 year old Roy Jones, Jr. a food vendor nicknamed “Patties”, is accused of forcing sexual intercourse on a 17 year old female minor. The girl and her mother told police that on November 9, 2014, Jones had sex with the girl without her consent.
Police began looking for Jones but he apparently found out about the report and went into hiding. He was located in Punta Gorda and apprehended. Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith denied bail and remanded Jones until November 10, 2015.
