By BBN Staff: The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has not come out in full force in supporting the teachers.
This is because, the Chamber is in a surveying process to determine how their members would respond to the BNTU’s call for their solidarity.
Senator Mark Lizarraga who represents the Chamber, attended the teachers rally in Belize city and told the media that he wished to express his admiration for the sacrifice that teachers are making for our country.
He shared that the business community has sent out a survey to its membership asking them to propose actions that the business community can take in solidarity with these shared positions.
He shared that some of these include refraining from paying taxes and a possible shutdown by the business community among others.
