By BBN Staff:Edmond Castro, the Minister of National Emergency Management (NEMO) and Area Representative for Belize Rural Central, Beverly Castillo were in Ladyville and Lord’s Bank yesterday, October 19, 2016, handing over houses to victims of Hurricane Earl whose homes had been damaged beyond repair by the storm in early August.
A total of 6 houses were handed over and a number of other houses in the area are being repaired as well.
According to NEMO, a total of 185 homes will be constructed by the end of November or early December in the four districts most severely affected by Hurricane Earl, namely the Belize District, Cayo, Stann Creek and Orange Walk.
To date, a total of 124 new houses have been completed.
Castro and Castillo were accompanied by NEMO National Coordinator, Colonel Shelton DeFour and regional and local NEMO Coordinators, Al Westby and Alpheus Gillett.
