By BBN Staff: Yesterday, elite cyclist Marlon Castillo was fined for causing death of his life long friend Ariel Rosado.
Castillo plead guilty to the lesser charge of causing death by careless conduct on Tuesday.
When he appeared in court yesterday, he was ordered to pay a fine of $13,500 fine and $8,000 to Rosado estate for his 11 year old daughter.
Rosado’s family requested leniency from the court for Castillo. Dorla Rosado, in her mitigation plea stressed that their family is not seeking compensation.
The Rosado family said it wants to remember him for the friendship that he and Castillo shared.
