By BBN Staff: There seems to be another major scandal brewing in another government agency.
There are allegations that a woman from Corozal applied for her birth certificate at the registry department in Belize City but was denied the document.
According to the infuriated woman, her birth certificate was one of several documents at the center of an internal investigation at the registry department.
Information to BBN is that a Mexican national was given the woman’s birth certificate and by extension her identity even though the Belizean woman had been registered and holds a Social Security identification card.
The registry department has not yet responded to the woman’s claims that have now gone viral on social media.
BBN will continue to press for answers.
