By BBN Staff: Yesterday, the opposition People’s United Party (PUP) issued a press release announcing that Party Leader John Briceno has nominated Melissa Balderamos Mahler and Claudet Grinage to serve as members of the Integrity commission.
In accordance with the Prevention of Corruption Act (No. 21 of 2007) Section 3 (2) which provides that two of the members of the commission shall be appointed by the Governor General, acting in accordance with the advice of the PM given with the concurrence of the Leader of the opposition.
A release from the party ends by stating that the PUP has confidence that both Mahler and Grinage will aptly represent the people of Belize on the commission.
