By BBN Staff: Tonight a candle light vigil was held in memory of Tyler Slavery, 7, and all other children who lost their lives to violence.
The theme, “Young lives matter,” has brought out not only the mother of Savery, Shakera Young; but also Melissa Hamilton.
Hamilton is at this time making funeral preparations for her children: Ian Sambula, 4, and Empress Hamilton, 9, who both recently succumbed to injuries received in act of arson.
The vigil began at the BTL park and participants are currently making their way through St. Thomas street and will return to the park for a short ceremony.
