By BBN Staff: Belize City police arrested a BDF soldier and a woman for ‘double riding’ a bicycle, but the soldier and woman claim he was in the process of rescuing her.
BDF Soldier, Kendrick Archer, was slapped with a charge of “carrying a person above the age of 10 on a bicycle.”
Shanna Bennett, 23, was charged with the obscure and seldom heard crime of “allowing herself to be carried.”
When they appeared in court, the accused soldier claimed that he was rescuing Bennett from a stalker who threatened her safety.
Magistrate Carlon Mendoza, however, dismissed the charges and warned the duo not to repeat the incident.
