By BBN Staff: Today, Chief justice Kenneth Benjamin struck out the case that was brought against the Speaker of the House Michael Peyrefitte by Cayo South Area representative Julius Espat.
The Chief justice informed the parties that the courts could not impede the business of the House of Representatives.
Reports are that Espat is planning to appeal the decision. He was suspended in August when he was dragged out of the House by police officers.
Espat remains firm in his conviction that the Speaker did not follow the proper House regulations in suspending him.
In order for him to be re-instated to the House, a motion would need to be read and voted on by the members of parliament.
