By BBN Staff: Four Honduran nationals are in trouble after Guatemalan authorities busted them with cocaine valued at $45 million in Belizean waters.
The Prensa Libre reported that the bust occurred on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in international waters. However reports from the Ministry of Defense is that it occurred near our Sapodilla Caye in southern Belize.
The Prensa Libre reported that 997 kilos or 50 packages of cocaine were found in a boat with several men.
640 kilos or 32 more packages were found in the sea after another boat fled leaving its cargo behind.
Walrr Orlando Portillo, 34; Jose Miguel Andrade Saldivar, 26; Jeyson Julian Avila Suazo, 21; and Zablo Amilcar Portillo,42; have all been detained by Guatemalan authorities.
