Thursday, August 27th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Belize continues to be an important trade partner for Mexico and vice versa, as the two friendly neighbors develop deeper economic ties.
As they prepare to negotiate the partial scope agreement going into 2016, the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) has reached out to exporters to address their concerns.
CEO in the Ministry of Trade and Investment Michael Singh spoke at a press conference about the standards Mexico wants and the kind of products Belize would like to export – moving from agricultural and livestock products to manufactured goods and even services.
According to Ambassador of Belize to Mexico, His Excellency Oliver del Cid, says the point of today’s workshop is to help untangle what may be to some exporters a complex web.
The officials say they would wish to host this event every year and bring more producers in.
