Friday, September 11th, 2015. Orange Walk Bureau Reporting: A new dialysis center in the north is scheduled for opening at the end of September.
The grand opening of the much needed facility, Dialysis de Belice, which is strategically located on the Belize-Corozal Road in Orange Walk Town is tentatively scheduled for end of the month with the actual date still to be announced.
The estimated numbers of adults living in Belize with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) or other kidney-related diseases vary by year but the fact remains, these diseases are ranked as the top five killers in Belize by the World Health Organization (WHO). The new state of the art dialysis center named is expected to help to accommodate the increased demand for dialysis services in the country.
The facility is a branch from its headquarters in Honduras called Dialysis Honduras that caters to over 16,000 patients in that country. The state of the art facility will not only help those struggling to manage their chronic kidney disease, but will also offer a healing environment that will improve overall quality of life.
Carlos Perrera, Managing Partner of Dialysis de Belice says that they are closing the gap when it comes to providing quality patient care.
The full range of services includes the latest generation equipment and comfortable dialysis chairs, which positively affect the patient’s treatment outcome.
Perrera says a team of highly experienced nephrologists as well as specialized nurses and well-trained staff members will ensure the provision of the highest quality care.
And while those prices are attracting ailing Belizeans from all corners, Perrera says the company is here for the long haul and plans for expansion are already in the pipeline.
