Schools reopen after rains

Tuesday, October 20th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: The Ministry of Education reports that classes are resuming today, Tuesday, for schools affected by flooding in the Belize, Orange Walk and Corozal District.MOE

In the Belize District, All pre, primary, secondary schools resume classes with exception of Pallotti High School, Queen Square Anglican Upper, St. Lukes Methodist, Unity Presbyterian, Calvary Temple, Bethel Primary, Grace Primary, and Sister Clara Mohammed.

In the Corozal District, Classes resume in Corozal for all schools with exception of: Guadalupe RC in Alta Mira, Fire Burn RC in Fire Burn, Chunox St. Viator Vocational High School AND All schools in Sarteneja (Sarteneja Baptist High School, Sarteneja La Inmaculada RC, Sarteneja Nazarene and Pre School and Sarteneja Community Pre School).

And in Orange Walk, Regular classes resume for all schools. Parents, Guardians and Students, are reminded of the following:

1.While classes are resuming in most schools in the affected districts, in considering whether to send their children to school they should assess their individual situations and environments as it relates to the safety and well-being of their families and children.

2.They should stay tuned for media announcements regarding any changes that may occur due to unpredictability of the weather.
