By Aaron Humes: The actions of Estella Gonzalez, who held a teenager in “slavery” conditions at her George Price Highway bar and forced her to have sex for money, should have condemned her to prison despite her health issues, Human Development CEO Judith Alpuche told reporters today.
Justice Adolph Lucas ordered more than 70 thousand dollars in fines and compensation at Gonzalez’s sentencing hearing in February.
While they respect the decision of the court as being within his discretion, Alpuche states that the law is written to be much less lenient.
