By Chrisbert Garcia: A short while ago on Jose Maria Nunez Street in Punta Gorda Town, a robbery attempt was foiled by police officers who responded to the scene quickly and fired several shots at the 
fleeing culprits.
According to information received from eye witnesses, officers were able to recover the money in some bushes near the shop, owned by a popular Chinese businessman known to PG residents as ‘James’.
This is still a developing story and more details will be posted as they become available. It is unclear if police were able to apprehend the suspects.
