11 shots fired in San Ignacio Town; Two men injured

By Horace Palacio: Two men were injured in a shooting incident in San Ignacio Town, Cayo District, in the early hours of Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.

Police reports indicate that the shooting occurred on 18th Street following an earlier altercation involving a 21-year-old taxi driver named Jair Frutos. Later, while socializing with others at a residence, a lone gunman dressed in red approached and fired 11 shots toward the group before fleeing the scene.

Two individuals were injured in the attack: 40-year-old security guard George Dominguez, who sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot, and 35-year-old operator Dwayne Tillet, who was shot in the buttock. Both men were taken to the hospital for medical treatment and are in stable condition.

Authorities have processed the crime scene and are actively investigating the incident.
