More than 10 armed robberies in San Ignacio and Santa Elena in last 9 months!

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Residents in Santa Elena Town are concerned about their safety and security following an uptick in crime recently.

Two businesses in Santa Elena Town have closed their doors, one of them citing robberies.

Over the last 9 months, there have been more than 10 reported armed robberies and most of the time by men on motorcycles.

Recently, a businessman was murdered and on June 1, David Galindo was shot.

Galindo died on Saturday evening.

Now, residents in Santa Elena are afraid since police are aware that the shooting death of Galindo is related to an ongoing feud with other groups in Santa Elena.

Meanwhile, some of the robbery reports were never issued or shared with the media and there has been no police comment on this.
