Security guard Kadeem Babb found dead inside post at Sadie Vernon High School

By Aaron Humes: A security guard for Sadie Vernon Technical High School identified as Kadeem Babb was found dead inside his post earlier this morning.

Acting on a tip received at the Mahogany Street Sub Station, officers visited the school located on Amandala Drive. Upon arrival, they observed three holes in the security booth near the street side. The holes appeared to be bullet holes. The security booth was locked. The security booth is a cream and orange concrete booth measuring approximately 5 feet by 5 feet.

Police forced the lock and found a man dressed in a red T-shirt laying on his side on top of a table facing the window which faced Amandala Drive, later identified as Babb. A pool of blood was seen below the table. Officers quickly secured the security booth and locked off the main entrance of the school.

The shooting was apparently committed with a nine-millimeter pistol as three expended shells and a slug of that caliber were recovered at the scene. There was no indication of disturbance inside the school.

Police investigations continue.
