United Airlines to establish seasonal non-stop route to Belize from San Francisco, California

By Aaron Humes: San Francisco, California will join Los Angeles and Seattle as U.S. West Coast destinations to Belize beginning in December through United Airlines, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) announced on Friday.

United will begin a new seasonal non-stop flight route between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City, Belize. Beginning Saturday, December 21, 2024, travelers from the Bay Area will enjoy a convenient and seamless way to experience the magic of Belize with this new service.

Tourism Minister Anthony Mahler said, “Belize is delighted to welcome this new direct flight from San Francisco with United Airlines. This new route opens a world of possibilities for travelers seeking adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion in a remarkable and unique destination. We are confident this new flight will significantly boost tourism arrivals from the San Francisco Bay area and further strengthen the ties between Belize and the United States of America.”

San Francisco will also serve as a gateway to the Far East and South Pacific with connections to Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong; Singapore, and Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, as well to European cities like London and Frankfurt, Germany.

United already operates from Houston, Texas year-round and seasonally from New York/Newark, Denver, and Chicago. The new San Francisco service is now bookable on united.com. The Belize Tourism Board looks forward to welcoming visitors from San Francisco. The Saturday flight leaves San Francisco at 12:30 a.m. local time and reaches the PGIA just before 8 in the morning (7 during Daylight Savings Time), then leaves at 10:15 a.m. and arrives at 2:24 in the afternoon. This runs from December 21, 2024, to January 6, 2025, and from March 6 to 30, 2025.

The flight will run to Belize on Saturdays and to San Francisco on Sundays only from March 31 to April 30 and May 22 to August 17, 2025, leaving San Francisco at 1:10 in the afternoon, reaching PGIA at 7:43 in the evening, then leaving at 9:30 the following morning to arrive at 2:24 in the afternoon.
