By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize Water Services Limited (BWS) on Wednesday issued a public notice advising consumers to fill storage tanks or containers and store enough water in light of the potential hurricane threat.
“We may need to turn off water systems in the affected areas due to severe weather conditions,” BWS said.
“This will help us to restore water service in the affected areas in a timely manner.”
BWS apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused.
On Tuesday, BWS advised customers ensure water storage is done safely in “clean, food-grade containers”.
“Plan for at least one gallon per person per day for drinking, cooking, and hygiene,” BWS said.
The announcements come as Hurricane Beryl continues its path toward the Yucatan Peninsula.
