Mi Gente advance to National Amateur Interdistrict Championship 2024 Quarterfinals despite 3-2 loss to MidSouth’s Garage FC

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Despite the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) announcing on last Wednesday that all weekend  games would be postponed, due to the approach of Hurricane Beryl, Mi Gente of Guinea Grass and MidSouth’s Garage FC went ahead with their National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC) Round of 16 return match on Saturday at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.

Midsouth won 3-2 but Mi Gente still advanced to the Quarterfinals on an aggregate score of 6-5 by virtue of having won Game 1 4-2 the previous week in Orange Walk.

Jose Melendez, Eliel Solares, and Kadeem Apolonio converted for Garage FC while Miguel Yco and Chelito Westby did so for Mi Gente.

That’s the only Round of 16 series that has been completed so far.

On Sunday, Toledo District’s Legends defeated Tut Bay in Game One of their series at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City.

Caesar Ridge FC have programmed their Game 1 against Napoles of Belmopan for Thursday at 6:00 pm at the Marion Jones.

That’s the only Round of 16 series that has been completed.

The FFB is expected to announce the schedule for the remaining games later this week.

San Pedro’s  Conquerors 1-1 Stann Creek’s New Site HD Hustlers

MidSouth’s 501 Spartans 0-0 Stann Creek’s Griga Conquerors.

Belize City’s Tut Bay 2-3 Toledo’s Legends
