By Aaron Humes: There was a brief power failure early this afternoon as Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) says it is experiencing temporarily reduced power supply from Mexico between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. today, Sunday.
Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is tending to maintenance works and there is reduced output from local independent power producers.
BEL says it will depend on local power producers to meet energy needs with the exception of BELCOGEN, which is not available due to the end of sugar season.
Just in case, customers are advised to conserve energy, especially during peak usage time from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
BEL asks and thanks the public for their understanding and cooperation.
