By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 12, 2024, two women were injured when a piece of concrete fell on them at the Novelos bus terminal in Belize City.
Ana Chanim, 53, was taken for medical treatment at the KHMH when the cement injured her right collarbone.
Prime Minister John Briceño says that he has not received the report and the area has to be redone.
“Well, I have not gotten the report as to what happened and I am not going to dispute it but yes, that whole area has to be completely redone,” the Prime Minister said.
The Transport Department has since indicated that they have launched “a full investigation.”
“Our immediate thoughts and sincerest apologies go out to the affected individuals and their family during this difficult time…… A full investigation into the incident has been launched to determine the cause, and we are working with structural engineers to assess the overall safety of the building,” the department added.
