By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Two Premier League of Belize Closing Championship matches were brought forward and will be played on Independence Day Eve, Friday, September 20.
Following Verdes’ lead, the San Pedro Pirates moved their game against the Belmopan Bandits to Friday at 7:30 pm at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro. Entrance to the game will cost $15, with free admission for children under 10.
The match was originally set for Saturday.
Meanwhile, Verdes will be playing the ‘Battle for 1st Place’ match against leaders Progresso on Independence Day Eve half an hour later, at 8:00 pm at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen.
This match was initially scheduled for Sunday at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.
The Wagiya-Port Layola match remains scheduled for Sunday, September 22, at 4:00 pm at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga. Entrance fee will be $10.
