By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Prime Minister John Briceño is in New York representing Belize at the United Nations Summit of the Future 2024.
“It was a pleasure to be welcomed to the United Nations by former Secretary General Ban Ki-moon serving from 2007 and 2016,” the Prime Minister said.
“His priorities have been to mobilize world leaders around a set of new global challenges, from climate change and economic upheaval to pandemics and increasing pressures involving food, energy and water. He has sought to be a bridge-builder, to give voice to the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people,” he added.
The Summit is a high-level event, bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future.
