By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize City Council continues to actively collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen preparedness and response strategies for Belize City.
Recently, CEMO held a meeting with the National Meteorological Service of Belize, representatives from London Economics, the UK Meteorological Office, and the Caribbean Meteorological Organization.
The purpose of this meeting was to explore the operations of the National Meteorological Service, evaluate its current impact and socio-economic benefits, and identify opportunities for enhancing services for climate-sensitive sectors that depend on its climate data, information, forecast products, and early warnings.
Additionally, stakeholders gained a deeper understanding of how community needs align with the weather and climate information provided by the National Meteorological Service of Belize.
